We aim to help people think critically about health information and how it informs their choices.
Good health depends on people making good choices. Good choices depend on people’s ability to understand and judge the trustworthiness of relevant health information. But many people lack these skills. We are trying to change that.

Our network
The IHC network consists of people in many countries and regions who are developing, evaluating or contextualising open-access IHC resources. We are a multidisciplinary group with decades of shared experience in research methods, health services research, medicine, public health, epidemiology, design, education, communication and journalism. Our institutional partners include universities and non-profit organisations that are based in countries around the world, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Chile, China, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Kenya, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Rwanda, South Africa, Spain, Uganda, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Working with us
We initially created resources for low-income settings, where the need is greatest. However, teams in over 20 countries – including high and middle income settings – are translating and adapting these resources for use in their settings. Most teams are finding that except for language translation, the school resources can be used in their original form without major changes.

Funding and support
The Research Council of Norway has funded development and evaluation of the primary and secondary school resources. Translations, adaptations, and other related work have been funded by many different institutions.
